Coral fluorescence with DIY UV light

Here are some shots of coral fluorescence I’ve done with a DIY UV lamp.
I have modified a 100W LED lamp. The modification consist in replacing the 10 white LED with other colors :

  • 7 Royal blue
  • 1 Green
  • 1 Cyan

Comparison Aquako IV / Noodilab

In this article I’ll compare 2 macro lenses.

I’ll use my Sony A7RII and a Sony 90mm macro lens.
I’ll use the lens at f14 except when indicated.

Here is the test scene (each side of the square is 1cm) :

First shot without macro lens at closest focus distance (11cm) :

With 35mm crop turned on :

Aquako IV at longest focus distance (4.5cm)

In conclusion, I would say the closer you focus, the better the quality of the shot. So I’ll have to choose the lens depending on the size of the subject.
The quality of the Sony lens is better at f14 than f22. But using f22 increase the depth of field and allow sharper corner.
